Dinner with the Clines
Lauren, Luke, and Mae joined us for dinner tonight. Mae brought over her own handbag and proudly carried it inside before passing it off to Mama so she could get into mischief with her cousin, Rooster. Sister already knows how a lady works it. She tossed that bag over her shoulder when it was time to go like she'd been doing it for years.
Less than 3 months until the 4th member of the Cline family joins us!

Olympic Hopeful? (Part 2)
Last Day of School (Part 2)
Lil is officially on her way to kindergarten! Time to pick up the shattered pieces of my life and move on (until September, that is). :) Lil was so sad to tell her teacher goodbye, but I promised her we could go visit next year. She and Reid were both so lucky to have such wonderful teachers this year - hopefully next year will be just as great!
Last Day of School (Part 1)
Today is the last day of school.... I was doing just fine until Catherine picked them up in tears. She said, "This is the last time I'm going to take Lil to school!" I think I'm officially cried out. Thankfully I have a few months before September 4 (that would be the first day of kindergarten) to stock back up on tears.
Who knew I had such a flair for the dramatic?

Sidewalk Chalk
The mosquitoes continued yesterday's vacation by sleeping in this morning. Lil and I got a big box of sidewalk chalk yesterday, and she made all sorts of masterpieces in our driveway before she left for school this morning. Reid enjoyed riding his bike all over them until he realized 1)it wasn't going to mess them up; and 2)she didn't care.

Graduation
Lil's preschool had a graduation for the Fours classes this morning. Susu and Aunt Lauren joined Trey, Reid, and me at school for a very sweet celebration. Lil has had a wonderful five years there - it will be hard to say goodbye on Friday! I'd like to think I shed all my tears tonight, but I'm not counting on it. You'd think I was about to ship her off to Africa.
Please, go ahead and say some prayers on my behalf for when this child graduates from high school.

Friends (and a Barbie movie)
Lil and Reid's friends Gracie and James came over late this afternoon to play and have dinner with us. James went home after dinner, but Gracie is spending the night with us tonight. Fortunately, she and Lil have been very sweet to Reid and even invited him to watch a Barbie movie and have popcorn in the den with them. I think he'd probably change the movie if given the chance, but he's not about to mess this one up. He didn't even want to leave long enough to take a bath - I guess it might give them time to realize they don't want a boy around after all.

Birthday Party + No Nap = DRAMA
Lil's friend Leslie had her birthday party this afternoon, and because Leslie's brother, Howard, and Reid are tight as ticks, Reid was also invited to the party. Reid went without a nap today so between school, walking Catherine's dog for an hour, and 2 hours of birthday party, he is not exactly pleasant this evening. Early bedtime, anyone?
